This is the class where you get a taste for the sweet science. You don’t have to currently be fit to begin this class as it is designed to ease you into the training. In this class the trainer will focus on your stance, footwork, guard, punches and give you an understanding around how to correctly hold pads for those who have never done this before. The focus in this class is TECHNIQUE TECHNIQUE TECHNIQUE as we believe you are better off learning things right the first time. There is also a fitness and cardio component to this class with the aim of increasing this at a steady comfortable rate without injury. There is no sparring or heavy contact in the beginners class as our aim is to introduce you to some skills and techniques in a safe environment whilst getting a great workout
For those that have been training and are comfortable with the techniques and holding pads but want to advance their techniques, this is the class for you. This class incorporates the use of shadow work, strength and conditioning and sparring. Our trainers have a wealth of knowledge to help you improve your technique and fitness
When the consistency in training is there and the skill base is at the level it needs to be you can progress to the advanced class. This is also the class for fighters. There is a strong focus on fitness here with plenty of shadow work, foot work, pad work, bag work and sparring. There is a degree of contact in the class which is necessary to prepare you for the challenge of competing. There is never any pressure to compete at Synergy Gym however, this is decided completely by you, after discussion with the trainer and after the appropriate steps are taken to prepare for the challenge.
Muay Thai utilises all eight limbs of the body including both fists, shins, knees, elbows and stand-up grappling techniques and our beginner classes show you the correct techniques for all these attacks. Intermediates Muay thai is for those who feel comfortable with the techniques they have learned in beginners and want to further advance their technical game and test themselves with some sparring. In this class one of our experienced trainers will be guiding you through the finer details of the techniques learned and keeping an watchful eye over the sparring to ensure the application is done correctly in a safe manner
When you have a strong fundamental skill base and are looking to challenge yourself with a strong fight team then after an assessment from our trainers you can enter the fighters class. There is a strong focus on fitness here with plenty of pad work, bag work, sparring and grappling. There is a degree of contact in the class to enable realistic defence and offence to be practiced. There is never any pressure to compete at Synergy Gym. This is decided completely by you, after discussion with Blair and after the appropriate steps are taken to prepare for the challenge. The Pit has established itself as one of Australia’s strongest fight teams
